See my "art" project below....
I guess I am on a roll! I have been eyeing a print from Ballard's. It's called Paris Places and is $399!
So as it is a little over my budget, I thought to myself "I could make that." Well, I am NOT an artist but I thought this would be easy! Yeah right!! I tip my hat to all of you artist out there because you don't just slap some paint up there and call it "art." My good friend Jennifer is awesome at painting and is very creative. When she is doing a project she definitely takes her time and they come out gorgeous! I am not that patient. So here it is....
My version inspired by Ballard's: I used some left over Ralph Lauren Black Paint (the Ballard's one is Brown), White Acrylic Paint, 4 in. stencils, a paint brush, a level and a little mathmatical help from my husband.
The blank canvas
Little Mac hanging out
Got it painted black-were it sat for a week
Then finally I got started on the letters. I realized that the 4 inch stencils wouldn't let me get the whole phrase on one line so I let some fall off the canvas. I don't speak French so I didn't know what is said anyway!
This took me a total of probably 7 hours to do! Not all at once of course. I also realized why artist have easels-my legs were so sore from squatting and moving around!
The Finished Product
I hung it on this wall by my front door. We really don't have an entry way so this is sort of it.
All in all I am pretty happy with it. It cost me a total of around $30. That is a lot better than $399.

Seriously. Impressive!!! Love it!
Thanks Coby!
I really like how the letters run off the edge of the canvas! It makes a nice statement in that space and is custom to the colors you wanted... totally worth the $30!!
