This past Friday, I met with my oncologist to discuss the results of my last PET scan. It basically read the same as the last. It is good but there is still a little inflammation around my heart that went down a little from the last scan. They call it uptake and measure it, normal is 1.5. Mine went down from 2.8 from the last scan to 2.2. My doctor still seems to think that it is from having surgery but he can't entirely rule out it being Lymphoma. If you remember back in January, I had surgery to have a tumor removed and ended up having surgery on part of my heart. It is normal to have inflammation after surgery but the downside is that inflammation and disease looks the same on a PET scan. Again, no black and white answer. I am starting to get used to that. I really believe I am cancer free (and so does my doctor) and today I meet with a radiation oncologist to find out how long I will do radiation. Radiation will knock anything else hanging around out. I am getting one step closer to being done! Thank you all for your prayers and sweet messages!
