Good Ole Fashion Book Review

I really didn't enjoy writing book reviews as a kid and really don't remember how to do one. Thankfully for me, I am not being graded on this one.

The book: Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange.

The French know style and chicness. So we should all take a little note from them. After reading this book, I have decided to invest in basics, not to follow all the rules, and not to be a slave to trends.

Here are some of my favorite rules that Parisian women follow:

*Don't dress head to toe in trends
*Think before you purchase
*Don't try to coordinate and don't call it an "outfit"
*Parisian women don't care about labels. They look for quality and style. They would never wear     anything that screamed "I spent a fortune on this"
*Don't look like you tried to hard. Effortless is key.

Here are the Parisian Basics:

Parisian Basics

1. A good white tank
2. Basic Denim
3. A Blazer- Navy or Black
4. Ballet Flats
5. Navy Sweater- don't be afraid to wear white denim all year around. Navy and black are timeless together.
6. Riding Boots
7. Leather Jacket
8. Trench Coat

Now these are just basics. If you read the book you will learn a Parisian woman has the art mastered in mixing and adding the unexpected. She also goes into more detail about accessories, dressing for your age, fashion faux pas and beauty products. There is a section on how to decorate like a Parisian but I will save that for another day.

It also is a great guide to shopping and dining in the city of Paris. I am glad I have a guide just in case I ever get to go! Cart before the horse.

Today is the last day to enter in the Batiste Dry Shampoo Giveaway!!
